About gymscience.live

gymscience.live was founded on a simple insight: most home gym reviews are either paid promotions or written by people who have never dropped a dumbbell on their floor. We wanted something better.

We buy every product we review with our own money. We test in real apartments, real basements, real living rooms — not in sponsored showrooms. Every piece of gear on this site has been assembled, used, and (where applicable) dropped on a hardwood floor.

Meet the Reviewer

MR

Mike Reynolds, CPT

Certified Personal Trainer

Mike Reynolds is a certified personal trainer and home gym equipment reviewer. With over a decade of experience helping people train at home, he tests adjustable dumbbells, smart gym systems, and compact cardio gear so readers can buy with confidence.

When he isn't reviewing the latest Bowflex or NordicTrack releases, you can find him coaching clients through small-space strength programs.

How We Test

Every review follows the same protocol:

  1. Unboxing & Assembly — tools required, instructions, time to build
  2. Daily Use (2 weeks minimum) — standard workouts, weight changes, noise levels
  3. Stability & Safety — wobble tests at max weight, drop tests, tip-over risk
  4. Space audit — floor footprint, storage dimensions, wall clearance needed
  5. Long-term durability — follow-up after 3+ months of regular use

Our Standards

  • No sponsored posts. Ever.
  • Every claim backed by measurement, not vibes.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed. We only recommend what we'd buy ourselves.
  • If a product fails, we publish the failure.

Who We Serve

Our readers are people who live in apartments, condos, or houses where a full multi-rack gym isn't practical. You want to get strong without giving up your living room. We respect that constraint and design our recommendations around it.
